TEAM IOWA Testimonials
Team Iowa facilitates great friendships amongst the players and their families. It is very common during HIgh School basketball season to see Team Iowa players and parents on opposing teams hanging out in the gym after the game. The coaches care about each and every player. They love to coach and it shows. Team Iowa gives girls a chance to play competitive basketball, have fun and make great friends along the way! Thank you TI!!

Along with all the success my teams had with TI, my favorite part of being a part of the program was the relationships built with my amazing teammates and coaches! It was refreshing knowing I could have fun playing the game I love while learning fundamentals and sharpening my game.

Coach Renell, and the other coaches haven't fallen into the "win at all costs" mentality that has become all too familiar in youth sports. Instead they teach and build on the fundamentals of the game, creating not only great players, but students of the game. This philosophy, along with teaching the kids to work and play hard, be respectful of their teammates and coaches is a recipe for success. I sincerely hope that all the kids involved with Team Iowa, at all ages, realize now or someday soon, how truly lucky they are to be a part of this organization.

The experience our son, Nolan has had with Team Iowa can't be replicated anywhere. The coaches are amazing. Renell Strait and Shawn Leonard are truly dedicated, have a natural instinct for developing young athletes and focused on Nolan being successful. His confidence and sense of team work has risen significantly. Team Iowa’s program offers the perfect blend of athletic drills and skilled instruction all while having fun too.

TEAM IOWA has allowed me to play with and against some of the top players in the country. Getting to compete against all levels of collegiate players has helped me become a stronger and a more confident basketball player. I have met several of my best friends through TEAM IOWA and the coaches care about all aspects of the game and not just about winning. It was fun each and every time we put on the TEAM IOWA uniform. Being part of TEAM IOWA has given me a lot of opportunities that would not have been presented to me otherwise.
Thanks for everything – Greg, James, Deb, Abby, and Marv. I will miss my TI Sisters

TEAM IOWA
A Value Investment in Our Youth
TEAM IOWA was an experience that our daughter, Alex, truly cherished. She bonded with her teammates with an unspoken respect for each teammate and had fun doing it. She considers many to be her "adopted sisters". It was a fun high school season seeing them give each other a sincere "competitive" hug after games this past season - win or lose a mutual respect was gained by all.
The level of play scheduled and professionalism executed by the organization were first class. If the collegiate experience is as good of a life learning tool we will be thrilled. We entered this program with the idea it would help our daughter appreciate the game more and enhance her play to contribute to her high school team. It did that and so much more. She now has had several opportunities to take her game to the next level and still get a great education without cost to us.
We appreciate the time and effort all coaches and staff of TI have put in to make this a valid entity for our youth and young adults. We value each cent we contributed to this club and would do it all over again!

I have 2 elementary children playing TI basketball. It has been a GREAT experience for both of them!! My son LOVES his teammates and is actually depressed on Sunday nights after tournaments because he won't see the boys except for at practices. He loves being a part of a competitive top basketball team. My daughter has met new friends from other schools. When she wanted to play bball we only wanted her to play TI. It helps that often they are at the same tourneys or cities on the same weekend.
VERY nice families are involved with Team Iowa. And the kids have learned SO MUCH about the game of basketball, their fundamentals, and being a part of a team. Renell is the best coach we have worked with any of our children in all of their sports. They are both extremely proud to wear their TI clothing and jerseys. We would not ever play with someone else or another team organization.
GO TI!!

As parents we feel that Team Iowa has been a positive and rewarding experience for our daughter, Alexis. Her 14 year old sister, Isabella watched Lexi play last summer and was so impressed that she has decided that she too wants to try out for Team Iowa. Coach Renell Strait is a dedicated coach who in the past has gone out of her way to help her players be it with transportation or sharing a room. James Moses has also been instrumental in letting the girls know what they need to do to become better players especially if they desire to play at the college level. Our experience as a family has been very positive and we would recommend Team Iowa to anyone.

As a parent, I looked at several AAU youth programs for my daughter Emily. I looked for a program that was fundamentally sound and spent time focusing on the development of each basketball player. TEAM IOWA has done that for Emily. It has been wonderful to see her learn how to correctly dribble, set a screen, shoot a basketball, and play with a group of girls that are also learning the correct fundamental basketball skills. the other advantage for us is that TEAM IOWA is committed to playing competitive basketball at all levels. This gives players the opportunity to play with the best competition in the state. Emily has had a very positive experience that has allowed her to become more confident in her skills and develop a love for the game of basketball.
